Acceptance testing with FIT PDF Print E-mail

Course Overview

FIT is a highly capable and extensive framework which supports acceptance testing of software systems.  It is intended to be easy to write, thereby allowing individuals with little or perhaps no knowledge of software to define tests for a system.  This ability to bridge the gap between software engineers and business analysts / customers through the formal definition of testable requirements provides significant business benefit.  FIT allows system behaviour and business rule to be defined and tested.

However, this is not without it's complications.  FIT imposes certain constraints on how these tests must be defined and these should be understood by the customers defining the tests.  In addition, due to their abstraction from the detailed implementation, a Fitment need to be created, a kind of adaptor to bridge the abstraction down into the code needs to be created.

As with all Principle7 courses, this course is experience based and has a high interactive & practical content.  The course provides an overview of the FIT framework, the types of tests that can be performed and the mechanism by which the fitments integrate with the code.  It then defines the types of FIT tables and delegates gain experience of both writing tables and creating a fitment to a simple application.
